The Glamour experiment:A Changeling chronicle"Hey, Donnie!" Donald Brick turned his head, seeing what appeared to be a woman covered in mud and dirt. He smiled. "Afternoon, Eve."
The woman sat down next to him, looking more serious than Donald had expected. Eve was serious by nature, of course, but now she looked terrified.
"What's the problem?" he asked, trying to show sympathy.
"Haven't you heard?" Eve looked around conspiratorily, like someone speaking against a fascist government. "People have been dissapearing around here, man. You oughta stay away from the Nightlight."
Donnie rose an eyebrow. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You know Mr. Gambino?" The question was obviously rhetorical. Everybody in the freehold knew Mr. Gambino.
"He told me that he was kipnapped by some scientist guy. He looked human, but they plugged him into some kinda machine, and then he woke up 2 hours later in an ally, staring at his own face."
"What?"
"Like, he was right there, looking down at himself. Like his fetch had come back to life or something."
Donald snorted. "I don't buy it. Fetches can't come back to life. The guy was probably halucinating."
"Yeah, whatever," Eve said. "Just don't say I didn't warn you."
The Freehold of the Tower. San Fransisco. March 2009. Changelings have dissapeared near The Nightlight, a local bar and Spring Court territory. Most of the changelings have returned, but they were usually drained of glamour. Some who had slain their fetches previously found that someone not entirely human was once again living their mortal life.
This chronicle will follow a motley of fresh from the hedge changelings trying to figure out just what the hell is going on. I'll be rolling the dice. Also, the only books I have (besides the basic rulebooks) are Winter Masques and Rites of Spring, so it would help me if you only used stuff from those books.
Any takers?

never done new school changling but yeah maybe

Soirgriffe
I'll join, would you like the characters posted here?
vhurka
That would be good.
That's one, maybe 2 people. Anyone else? 4 people would be optimal for my purposes.
Jay
what the hell, i'll think about it
vhurka
Awesome!
Okay, there were some things I forgot to mention somehow, so I'm putting them here:
I need no more than I character per court. So, if someone's already made a spring court character, you can only make a summer, autumn, or winter character. The reasons for this will be explained at the beginning of the chronicle.
Also, I'm giving everyone a free dot in mantle for their appropriate court.
So we have 1 confirmed player and 2 possibilities.

Sir Cottle
Dot another player on your list. However, I want to clear up whether or not you'd accept Courtless or you need seperate players from seperate Courts? I'm not firm on whatever decision, but I'd like to know ahead just before I start creating a character.
EnsNentill
I'm interested. I'm new to Changeling, but I have played WoD before.
I'd like to call dibs on Winter court. I'm debating between a Darkling Mirrorskin, or an Elemental of some sort. Do you have any preference of what you want in your chronicle?
vhurka
EnsNentil:As long as there's no more than 1 from each court, you can pick whatever you want.
Sir Cottie:Courtless would work in theory, but I'm discouraging it for your sake. In the SF freehold as I run it, court politics are pretty crazy right now, and the courtless are generally seen as being dangerous wild cards. If it works for a concept you have, go for it, but be prepared to be shunned to a degree.

Alright, that's fine. I'm up and working on a Autumn Court character.
gelalshawr
I'm interested, do you still have any room?
edit: it looks like nobody has called Spring, I was thinking an Ogre
vhurka
Okay, that looks like 4 people. Post your characters and we shall begin.
EnsNentill
How should we post our chars? Just list everything out? Make a sheet on Myth-weavers.com and link it here?
Sir Cottle
I'd figure you simply type out the stats and some background information like me and Gelalshawr did in the Storyteller & Character Creation Section of the Changeling the Lost part of the forums.
Also, Vhurka? Are we starting off as a motley or generally knowing each other or being completely unaware of the other players?
vhurka
Like I say, your characters are just meeting each other. They're being forced to work together by powers beyond them, possibly against their will.
EnsNentill
Any chance we can have a heads up on how we're being thrown in together so that we can plan ahead before the game starts?
vhurka
Your respective Court leaders contact you all, seemingly at random, and get you down to the Nightlight, a bar mostly run by and for changelings.
That's all you're gettin' outa me till the game starts. I'ma keep you guessing.
EnsNentill
Fair enough
gelalshawr
looks like we're just waiting on Soirgriffe to post a summer court char
Sir Cottle
I don't want to rush things, but how long should we wait for our summer court buddy?

I sent him a message. Didn't check, he may or may not have responded.

Okay, actually, no response, and I sent the message almost a week ago. I'll give him a little while longer.
EnsNentill
maybe the Fae got him.
gelalshawr
They're picking us off one by one, he didn't even get out of the Hedge and they got him back, we're all freaking DOOMED!!!

Dude, you're actually scaring me. Please. Stop.
EnsNentill
I know a few people that might be interested in playing. Should I ask around to take his place?
baronvonharper
I'm a newbie to the NWOD, but I played some Hunter and some Vampire back in the day.
Should I attempt to make my first Changeling character?
baronvonharper
It sounds like no one took a Winter Court character, so I will make one of those. I will start a new thread in the character area. I believe I made a Darkling: Mirrorskin of the Winter Court correctly, but I may have botched something up.
EnsNentill
I made a Darkling: Mirrorskin winter char already.
baronvonharper
Aww crap, guess it's back to the drawing board.
What is left?
baronvonharper
It looks like Summer is needed.
I'll have to think on this, and get back to you.
EnsNentill
well, we're supposed to be full, but the summer court guy hasn't made a char yet, so you can try that?
baronvonharper
I revised my character to be a Summer character and posted in the appropriate place.
There may be some bugs in there, as this is my first character using NWOD.

I don't know when everyone plans on starting the PBP, but my internet will be a bit spotty over the next couple week as I'm going on a little vacation. I am going to drag my laptop with me, and I'll probably bebop into a coffee shop to use some free internet a couple times at least. I'm looking forward to playing in this as my face to face opportunity to play Changeling seems to be slipping through my fingers...
I'm excited to play. Thanks for the opportunity.
vhurka
So, it seems we have everyone. The actual game is to begin shortly.
gelalshawr
sweet, finally, I am ready for action
Sir Cottle
Great!
baronvonharper
I believe my character is up to snuff now.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the game actually plays.
vhurka
Game will officially start shortly.
Meantimes, check your inboxes.
baronvonharper

You asked for where our characters came from, and I didn't know if we should all be from the same hometown, or if it was alright if we came from all across the country.
I think I gave you the wrong zipcode, so here is the correct one.
Greensburg, PA 15601
If we are from different places, that works, and if you want us to all come from the same place, that works too.
baronvonharper

Everyone must be recovering from the 4th...
Sir Cottle

I'm still here.

^Smurf's theme song...
Tap, is this thing on?
EnsNentill
I dunno Baron, that sounds more like the Happy Tree Friends song to me.
baronvonharper
Happy Tree Friends... hehe.
gelalshawr
that's only because you're too young to remember what smurfs are Ens
EnsNentill
little blue guys, 3 apples tall, thwarting Gargamel, I think I got a pretty good recollection of them.
gelalshawr
you forgot 99-1 male/female ratio, subsisting entirely on smurfberries, and refer to everything as 'smurfy'.
baronvonharper
<--- kicks Gargamel in the face!
gelalshawr
I think we may have lost our ST, who wants to help me break into the XP stash?
EnsNentill
Well, I'm a mirrorskin, so I can look like the ST for any retinal scans the XP vault might have
baronvonharper
Hopefully he's just really sick or something...
"I'm feeling better! I FEEL HAPPY! I FEEL HAPPY!"
CRACK!
baronvonharper
Well guys, I tried. I'm bailing out.
I don't think this is going to happen.
This thread I started on White Wolf's forum might help you guys find a game.
http://forums.white-wolf.com/cs/forums/t/7364.aspx
I've been kind of busy lately, so I don't know if I will try to play in anything after all. My wife has been complaining about me ignoring her to spend time with my other wife (the laptop). hehe.
Good luck with finding another game.
