One of the problems with online play by post is Dice Rolling. how can you roll a dice when your Storyteller cant see you?
Well a lot of it relies on honesty from the players.
but there programs and websites that can help with dice rolling and there are also a few ways to get round dice rolling, first I'll present ways to dice role without the use of computers.
1: the storyteller could roll the dice for there players, and tell them if they where attempt was successful or not, this could really add suspense to the game, but storytellers, if you go down this path, please tell your players about modifiers before rolling, its only fair
2: same as above, only the player rolls dice and tells the storyteller. Players, please wait for storytellers approval before rolling, as there might be modifiers involved.
Okay moving onto online programs and websites.
1: if you are a member of white wolf's website, they provide an online dice roller found here http://www.white-wolf.com/DiceRollers/wodroller.php

2: Vault of Darkness has a pretty nifty dice roller in its program. you can download the vault of darkness here http://mrgone.rocksolidshells.com/misc/VoD-Win_CharacterGenerator.zip
To find the dice roller in Vault of Darkness, open the program, one it opens, you will be in the "open a new or existing character" window, from there, click Help, then Dice Roller, or simply just press Ctrl and D at the same time
